the quality at long range wont get any better by adding a converter. you'll extend the reach, but any CA and softness will only remain or get worse. also you'll drop 2 or so F stops.
I have a fuji bridge camera as well, and they're good little things, but (like most superzooms) they are abit soft and prone to CA at the top end
