Hi everyone, I'm b0dge...
I took this photo last year and then, after showing a few people, forgot about it. Until now.
I was having a cigarette outside my back door last night (don't smoke kids, it's not big or clever) and for some reason was looking at the wall, and saw three of the familiar looking holes in the brickwork had black legs poking out of them again. This jogged my memory of this photo, and so I spent a bit of time this morning trying to ID the spider, and as far as I can see, it's a Tube Web Spider (Segestria florentina). It lived (unfortunately, about ten seconds after this picture was taken, my girlfriend hit both creatures with a shoe) in one of the aforementioned holes in a south-facing red brick wall in my house, not far from Ninesprings Country Park in Yeovil, Somerset.
Anyway, I just thought it was an interesting photo, and other people might be interested to see it...
