The settings that I use for raw file conversion produce images that are suitable for upload to the web and to the image library or
Gallery. It's rare that I'll need a larger image for any purpose but if I do it's easy enough to go back and carry out the conversion again.
As for naming and keywording that is all done as part of the upload process and you don't need to alter the keywords stored with the pictures on your computer.
I upload to the image library, as others have said, so that I can get ID on stuff and share images in posts. I upload to the
Gallery so that I can give something back for the help and advice I receive. The
Gallery pictures help others to identify wildlife and I take it as a compliment that some of my images are good enough to be used for this purpose. There's a certain satisfaction in knowing that, with my limited knowledge of wildlife, I am able to contribute to one of the best, if not the best, on line identification resources in the UK.
