I think your garden is just not a very bird-friendly environment. There doesn't seem to be much cover, shrubs, bushes etc, an ornamental palm tree is not ideal habitat for British bird life. You have a lot of trees nearby and the birds will need a good reason to leave this ready-made environment to come into your garden. Preferably you should have some good native plants to provide food, cover and hopefully nesting sites, as well as a bird bath or tray.
