Please folks, if you want this forum to be taken seriously, keep the funnies and off-topic for the treehouse or a separate thread.

Mr/Mrs/Ms Consa Vation has a valid point here.

My personal opinion on this subject is that I want to be able to come to WAB and discuss wildlife and related issues with like-minded, enthusiastic individuals who share my passion. However, I don't wish to do this is in a very serious, sterile environment ... I want my visits to WAB to be enjoyable – educational, yes, but always in a light-hearted way. I think this applies to education in a wider sense - the more fun it is, the more inclined people are to get involved, and the education will come as a by-product of that. I have learned so much since coming to WAB from the guys and gals here, but it has also always been a fun place to come to, and long may it continue!

Incidentally, the "one-liner" posts that CV referred to, are very often an essential part of the 'fun' side of the site for me, and so when a witty retort to the last person's post pops into your head, post it, I say, and be damned!!

p.s. Why would anyone be here for over a year "in several guises" ...

p.p.s. Consa Vation seems conspicuous by his or her absence since that first post ... lost the courage of your convictions, CV - or just retreated quietly to your alter-ego?
