Hi Claire, I live near woodland that is mainly coniferous but has areas that are mixed and deciduous. I tend to find a lot of fungi in coniferous or mixed woodland, probably as there is very little undergrowth other than needle litter, making the fungi easier to spot. At this time of the year there is a lot of leaf litter in deciduous woods but the fungi are there, just harder to see.
