I've watched Ospreys in (K) Bay, Scotland fishing for up to two hours without a capture, this was at a time when many dives were taken over the high water period and with capable juveniles.. There must be a high rate of missed strikes.
Southward migrating Ospreys seen in South Lakes take a chance strike but rarely catch a meal.
They're not around for so long on migration so keep your eyes peeled. |
