| Re: Nice autumnal colour, but help to id please! The first one looks like Thunberg's Barberry (Berberis thunbergii). No. 2 is actually a Crataegus, cockspur-thorn, not a Sorbus, and I'd say it was Broad-leaved Cockspur-thorn (Crataegus persimilis).
They're both occasionally naturalised from bird-sown fruit, as well as being very popular in roadside plantings etc. |
