| Re: Is the earth really dying? Whether we like it or not, the human race is a selfish species, always have been and always will be. Ok, I'm generalising but sadly it's true of most of us. We really only care, or, are bothered about our own individual insulated worlds. It's human nature and it's reflected in the behaviour of our close relitives Chimpanzies. Mankind has always craved the material things that the more fortunate have aquired. The few that genuinly care, the majority of people on this forum and similar forums, will make our protests against the abuse of our world and the creatures that co-exist with us, to little or no avail. It saddens and distresses me, and I won't give up trying. I'm also a realist and I believe that the Earth will survive this relentless attack and when we're long gone, may even go on to benifit from our demise. Meanwhile, I'm relishing every country walk, every wonderful natural encounter and praying that there is no such thing as reincarnation! |
