The white myxomycetes are smaller than pinhead, absolutely smooth.
I had
Lycogala epidendrum on that very same spot last year but in the grey puffball stage so I had assumed this was the earlier stage. And I can't resist photographing those
Trametes when they are in pristine condition

I'm not sure if I'll get round to the microscopy. I've 3 tubs full of stuff still to id, and really should be packing for the house move .... I've given myself this evening to play with the microscope and it is 10.42 already ....
