I find those orange-red Hygrocybe little *****s to id . The effect of weather on them is one of the problems. And microscopically there seems little to tell some of them apart. Boertmann left H marchii open as he'd not come to a conclusion on it, not seen enough material, when he wrote his old book. Maybe that is what is delaying his new book, he's still looking for H marchii .

I have a whole stack of photos and micro photos of them and still can't reach a decision on many .... I hope one day that I'll be able to distinguish them as a result of lots and lots of looking ... that I'll recognise the elusive jizz. It is not through lack of trying ....
