| Re: unknown spider found in shed It is not easy to ID spiders to species level from a photo, but it is one from the genus Amaurobius. These spiders do not spin an orb web but produce fuzzy silk from the cribellum, a sort of many outlet spinneret. They comb out this silk with a comb like part of the rear legs called the calamistrum. They are very common, but the degree of patterning is very variable.
