daffy, i too would be very interested to know how you go on. we've been once before to leighton moss and are heading there again end of oct/beginning of nov. i'm really hoping to see a bearded tit, looks like we've inadvertantly picked a good time for the best chance of seeing them
we saw:
willow tit, reed warbler, bullfinch, spotted redshank, greenshank, avocet, gt. crested grebe, wigeon, shoveler, goldeneye and goosander
when we were there mid-march this year. didn't see or hear the bittern or the bearded tit
