First off, yes - he does sound miserable! If he says he doesn't care about anyone but himself, then even if you removed all your feeders I'm sure he would still complain about the others. As for deficating on his washing - birds would do this when flying over anyway, whether you fed them or not.
You've taken reasonable steps in moving the feeders. This shows that your family have listened to his concerns, and acted in his interests. If he shows no sign of gratitude for that, then I think that shows he won't stop complaining. There's no pleasing some people!
