Do have a look at Nytecam's thread on DIY star spectra, one of his Youtube videos shows his home setup, - you might be interested in that. I remember seeing a photo on a calendar not long ago that showed one of the nebula (nebuli!) and described it as being trillions of light years across. Awesome.
