I saw this on a moorland path on the way up to Lost Lad (near Derwent Edge)....and haven't got a clue what it is!

I've ever seen before - and I'm not even sure if it IS pooh!
I thought it may be a dogs.....but it just doesn't look right. It had a sort of silky shiny look to it! I wasn't about to get down on my hands and knees to get a good whiff either!
Anybody any ideas??
