Hello, from Mothville, Lincs Wow, I forgot to go and make my meal I was so enthralled with this wonderful site. I can see me here most of the time from now on.
My choice of name and avatar was because the Garden Carpet of the picture was the first moth I identified. I was so pleased with myself. Since then I have taken many pics of moths, they seem to like the inside of my house for some reason! I have recently bought a new digi camera.. and boy do I miss my old Sony Mavica. This one, a Minolta Dimage Z5 is so heavy I can barely keep it still.. in fact I cant!.. so to take pix of moths I bought a little cheap table tripod.. and all moths now have to pose on my desk... or I dont take their pic!
I live in the wilds of Lincolnshire in a quiet part of a small village (quiet when there are no jets about). In the last few years due to illhealth I have 'retired' and when I moved to my present home I found I had a garden full of butterflies, dragonflies(squadrons and squadrons of em!) This year there seem to be enormous numbers of moths around. Is this the case generaly or is it just in this particular area. I was out the other night at dusk on the coast road and the number of moths was incredible... it was like driving through snow at one point. So combining a mild interest in photography and an increasing interest in moths I have had many hours of pleasure. I look forward to finding out much much more with the aid of this site. Keep up the good work. |
