They were so confused about being the favourites of an area of the camp. Poor souls, both over 70 and really fine folks. Didn't speak a word of the language, either of them. It was grand the way the Austrians, Germans, Hungarians and Poles took them under their respective wings. All because of socks and sandals. I think they went home in a bit of a daze. One night there was a party and we all turned up to invite them, Charles and Sarah, they were named, it was the 1st time I had spoken to them and they were amazed at the friendliness of everyone, well naturists are friendly, you can't hide anything. No clothes! The blokes took him fishing and to the local pubs, etc, and the womenfolk gathered Sarah to them and nattered in broken English to her. I really think they had a wonderful time. They were from Cirencester I think. West country acccents anyway. I didn't have that much to do with them as Tunja, my daughter was only little and I was learning Dadhood.
