What a lot of people also don't realise, is that regardless of the outcome of any legal proceedings, the police officer is also subject to the Police Disciplinary Code. Even if found to be innocent under normal law, he could still be found guilty of an offence under that code which ultimately could lead to him being sacked, not just "allowed to retire with a nice pension". |
