'The rustic' is much smaller and is identified by a distinct 'sheen' to it's wings.
Most of the 'underwings' come out in high summer when strawberries are about, not sure why but they zoom off when one is picking said fruit!!!
If it's any help, I save cotton bud pots to look at moths. This way you can view them from all sides (Svenssons copper underwing etc.) without hurting them at all and they are 'free'!!
