We had a family of Jays visit our garden last year after putting monkey nuts out for them. We were visited by the parents who after two or three weeks brought their three youngsters into the garden. Imagine our delight when once again this year we had Jay parents visit and after a few weeks they brought four youngsters. They really are handsome birds and a great joy to watch. Last year they visited from June to end July. This year they started to visit in late April. Will be sad to see them go off again this year but hope we are lucky enough to have them visit next year. We only have a small garden on an estate - not the sort of garden you would expect jays to visit. |
