Re: New around here and probably a very easy ID?

Hi, not complaining as such, it's just that when it gets dark and you're enjoying the peace and quiet with the french windows open and suddenly this big owl starts screeching and whatnot from about 20ft away it is very eerie. I look at it, it looks at me...it's eyes glow, mine don't...it wins the staring competition!

One time I got home quite late and as I closed my car door and locked it I saw it in the tree out of the corner of my eye, it must have been watching me because as soon as we made eye contact it swooped down over my head, missed me by about 2ft and then flew up into the tree opposite my house!

I wouldn't have it any other way to be honest, I think we have a connection between us. I think he's awesome and very cool indeed and he thinks I'm not even good enough to shine his boots! Haven't a clue as to what type of owl he is (or even if he's a he) but he's a brown colour, about the size of a rugby ball, maybe slightly smaller, with yellow/light green eyes and prefers to screech rather than hoot like a normal owl should! There is not much light around my back garden after dark so I can't give a better description as I can't see too well.
