Blackbird nest SOS

Hi

I am new to this site as an incident occured today which has very much worried me. We have a blackbird nest in a big Pyracanthus bush in our garden, we have regularly seen the male going in and out. The bush is very heavy and has previously fallen over and then we had to tie rope around to support it. We have suspiscions that our neighbour cut the rope last week as the top of the bush was growing over slightly into his garden. As a result the bush has slowly started to lean back over towards the ground. Tonight what appears to be the female (we have not seen her before) flew into our conservatory glass and died. We are confused as to how this happened as the bush is positioned at a right angle to the conservatory.
Anyway, the male was hopping about on the grass then went up into a tree for a few minutes before flying away. I have kept an eye out but have not yet seen him return. Due to the position of the nest we are unable to see whether there is anything in the nest and whether it is eggs or chicks. We are worried that whatever is in there will be abandoned now and what we should do about this?
Hayley.
