Hi I'm from Essex and know exactly what you mean. I'm 44 and me and my hubby have found that a lot of the wildlife walks etc we have tried have been mainly retired people - nothing wrong with that but it would be nice to mix with like minded people our own age. We mainly enjoy bird watching but are still quite novices as we only startes a year or so ago. I love anything to do with animals of any kind big or small flying or creeping.
Maybe you could start a Essex group that met for wildlife walks ( and coffee and cake at the nearest cafe) We could all learn along together and have some laughs along the way.
