I have the 50D's predecessor, the 40D and am very pleased with it. I think it is still available and is considerably cheaper. The sensor is the same physical size as the 50D's, but has fewer pixels (10MP vs 15MP). There is some debate over which has the better picture quality - the higher pixel count of the 50D may be ofset somewhat by those pixels having to be closer together.
I certainly won't be upgrading to the 50D. I wonder what the 60D will bring? (probably HD video). |
