It's almost exactly a year since we had this little owl fledgling in the garden, and though I didn't do a post at the time, I just wanted to say to people, that if you find one of these beautiful little bundles of fluff, that it is quite natural for it to be on the ground for a couple of days being looked after by its mother there, so don't pick it up to "rescue" it. Keep your cats locked up though!
"Neneni" as the youngest member of the NatureCounters team called it, stayed there for about 4 days, making a small hissing sound to call its mother, and hopping onto the garden furniture at night, spending its days in a flower bed. A few days later we saw it making brief flights.
