Hello BloomingMarvelous, I used to have the same experience with skylarks when I was a lad. We had this large area of open grassland near where I lived with loads of skylarks and they would nest under a small tuffet of grass almost impossible to see. It`s true though you do seem to develop an instinct for spotting them...Bob
