| Re: Birds You Wish To See Had good view of Hawfinch from a hide this spring on a trip to Nags Head RSPB reserve. Place I used to go for them in winter was Bedgebury Arboretum, Kent where there's a small roost + if you're lucky you might also see Crossbills + Brambling. If you still don't see them, go to eastern Europe where they are common + seem less elusive. When I was in Poland Hawfinch was second most frequently seen finch after Chaffinch.
In about 10 days I'm off to look for cetaceans/seabirds across Biscay so hope for many Cory's + Great Shearwaters + Sabine's Gull- not new for me, but exciting nonetheless. A lifer would be a big rarity such as Fea's Petrel. |
