Not in my experience they dont. I had my Sigma 105mm lens serviced by them (the focus mechanism was sticking), and when it came back it had a different serial number and started electonically disconnecting from the camera (i.e. 00 would appear where the aperture is). It went back twice to be fixed, and eventually they just sent me a new lens. No apologies and no explanation. My lens was serviced in March, and it was only last week that I got a working lens.
