The theory is (I think) that the moon governs the tides and it has a similar effect on water trapped in the soil,so by planting at a certain time in the moons' phase your plants or seeds get access to more water naturally.
I believe harvesting at the appropriate time is just as important, I know it sounds quite complicated but now that she's started doing it she's not going back ,because her crops are so good.
Barbara | Yes, we're talking about the same thing. I have sections in some of my books on Lunar Gardening but I've yet to try it. The fact that some RHS gardens use the method with success gives it validity though  .
