Thanks guys very interesting.

From your answers the larger of my two local woods seems to be mostly made up of Sycamore (am I right in thinking these don't support very much wildlife compared to other trees), there are also a good number of Hazel, with the odd other species here and there.

The smaller of the woods seems to have three distinct parts, one end seems to have a majority of big old hazels, younger sycamore centre, and oaks at the other (this seems to be the oldest part of the wood and definitely holds alot more wildlife.

I have one more image of unidentified leaves. This this from a young woodland that a farmer planted about 10-15 years ago in one of his fields. 9,10 and 11 all looked more like garden trees to me, I've never seen them in the wild before. Could anyone enligthen me?
