Tanny is quite right regarding the spread of Little Egret. I have had them as far away as Scotland. The south Coast (especially SW across towards the East) is their stronghold. There is a very large colony at Brownsea Island, near Poole, Dorset.
Tanny is slightly incorrect on the Collared Dove. They actually arrived in the late 50's (57 I think) at Overstrand in Norfolk and have stayed (and obviously populated) ever since. |
