| Re: Hello from StuDH Hi,
I know I have been driveling on about things for a couple of weeks, so this is who I am. Male, 50, divorced, GSOH (oh, got a bit carried away there). My moth book was my favourite when I was a child. I loved the angle shades and swallow tail moths that came into the house. At primary school I found crested newts in the church pond on Chorleywood Common and realised you had to give tadpoles something to eat apart from each other. Not apparent to my teachers. I did A level biology and a year at university, but baled out. Too far from the actual creatures and far too long before there was a chance to do anything interesting. I have a degree in photography, but no suitable gear to take digital pics of small things. I dug a small pond in my Egham garden. It has lots of interesting bugs in. My garden includes budleia and also catmint and catnip. I got the mints for my cat, but they have a fascinating range of insect visitors, including my namesake, potter wasps looking for the larvae, small dark solitary bees etc etc.
I'm not a trained expert, but I'm observant and curious. I want to know everything!
I'm quite lucky to be living just across from Runnymede and just off Windsor Great Park.
Jonathan
