I have used the lumix FZ30 for a couple of years and it is an excellent camera capable of producing quality A4 prints,the only reason I upgraded to a canon 40d was that the lumix failed to get close in macro mode, I DO miss the fold out screen which made flower & fungi shots a breeze,I hate carrying extra lenses with the 40d and changing them is a nightmare in the field, just cost me £50 to have the sensor cleaned
at the end of the day if your happy with the results stick with the lumix
I'm not so sure you're right there, the Panasonic FZ30 with a £50 Raynox macro 'snap on' lens can be excellant for macro work, all of my macro shots are shot this way



and they're pretty good (though noisier and slower than a DSLR)
and many of Matt_xyz 's earlier shots are shot the same way and his are really excellent.
