Hi,
I have a seals issue a little closer to home!
An estimated 5,000 seals are slaughtered in the UK each year by fishing interests, notably Salmon farms, netsmen and sport anglers.
The Conservation of Seals Act (1970), is little more than a licence to kill them, except during their respective breeding seasons.
For further details please visit the Seal Protection Action Group's (SPAG) website
Seal Protection Action Group Home.
Also, veteran wildlife broadcaster John Craven will be presenting a section called ‘Shooting Seals’ on BBC Countryfile on Sunday 5th April 2009. SPAG’s Campaign Director Andy Ottaway was interviewed for the show.
Thanks!
