maybe its my age, but it feels like technology is reaching a tipping point of becoming invaluable when you can take a phone with you that can access something like multimap and get full detailed mapping of most parts of the uk.
I cant imagine how I would have reacted to a little box that i could use as a phone, access to t'internet, and music, camera and (effectively) an OS map that knew where I was!
there's nothing quite like having a map physically in your hand but the potential of these mapping sites, including Anquet, google earth coupled with Arkive and of course WAB are incredible....
technology eh? not all bad!
