some pics of Sherwood forest ( a couple are from a few weeks ago) a really interesting place to walk in
there are some really ancient oaks throughout the forest ,some are long dead but still standing, but lots more still growing happily away,
except no 4 which is sadly almost gone now, but has stood like this for as long as i can remember!!
this one is the famous Major Oak better known as Robin Hoods Tree
still growing with a little help and support in the right quarters
these next few are almost totally hollow inside and amazingly, still growing away!,
there must be hundreds like this around the forest of all shapes and sizes
and this one had the elves at home
