you would probably be better off with a multi-element macro lens (like the raynox ) because the single element ones can be prone to chromatic abberations sometimes.

(but if the price is good and they get good reviews, go for it )

canon also do a very highly recomended multi-element macro lens, the 250 and 500D lenses which are available in several filter sizes
