[skywatcher]

I've just shot in RAW for the first time I've downloaded the adobe plug in update so it covers my 50D.The photo files seemed to download onto my external hd (where I wanted them) but they didn't turn up in a folder (as I expected) but as individual files, each one with its sidekick xmp file.The thumbnails land on the Organiser pane (fine) but if I highlight a photo and hit edit>full edit I get a blank Editor pane. I somehow expected the file to be opened up in the ARC window. The only way I can do this it seems is to go back to the files on the hd(which, of course, are all impenetrable file names so I have no idea which photo I'm opening!),hit file>open and open one of them up. My instinct is that something's gone wrong somewhere! I'd like to stick with ARC rather than use the DPP that came wth the camera (and which I haven't installed).I've read various books and searched forums but I just can't quite nail what I'm doing wrong.Any advice would be very much appreciated.
