I would call this a small state of
Xanthoria parietina, not
X. polycarpa. It is difficult to find a reliable macroscopic distinction (lobe width does not help on small twigs), but the arrangement of the apothecia here, set amongst the thallus lobes, is typical of
X. parietina, as is the precise thallus colour, whereas in
X. polycarpa the apothecia are more clustered and hide the thallus.
