not that much - my stihl MS361 was only 350 odd notes last year- you can get a MS230 (which is a good light saw for general use) for a tad over 200 notes

just remember that the safety kit (Trousers/leggings , gloves, helmet and boots) will cost you nearly as much again , and its not worth economising on it as it could save your life

The thing about mculloch (and the sundry other cheap ones) is that they are heavier for the equivalent power , go through fuel and chain oil faster, and brake more often - the old adage "buy cheap, buy twice" applies

Incidentally the reason most chainsaw carvers use stihl is that stihl do very attractive offers on kits comprising a light saw and a carvers bar , which is pointier and easier to use for detail work (and less prone to kick back) than the standard bar.
