Variegated garden throw-out

Can anyone help me put a name to this variegated, woody-stemmed scrambling plant, a relic from someone's pile of dumped garden junk?

I first came across it last May in an area notorious for being used as a dumping-ground, but assuming it wasn't established I just ignored it. The plant's still there and growing strongly, though, in amongst a tangle of brambles when I paid a return visit yesterday, so it must at least be able to survive a UK winter Now all I've got to do is put a name to it

It's probably something that's used pretty commonly in tubs & hanging baskets, etc, and I'm sure I've seen it growing somewhere before, but I've been unable to do any better than that. And sorry for the poor quality of the photos; the light was awful and thanks to the brambles I couldn't get all that close
