hi there i used to work with these deers at a country park we feed them on a dry mix however they do eat carrots, apples, cornflakes, lettues, banana's.
work with them for 2 years and they always ate what was in there dish so i would suggest some of these on the ground where you have seen then, not sure what they eat in the wild and iam sure someone else will tell you more iam afraid thats all i know hope it helps.
