| some form of beetle hi i'm new here and dont know much about insects except for the fact that i have never seen one of these beetles or have i ever seen one this size in my life in fife, not that i'v really looked but if anyone could help me identify this so i know its not some imported insect from the last bag of fruit i bought unfortunatly i have only my mobile phone to take a picture which will be very low quality image i will add the picture shortly but if someone could tell me what information you need for identification i will try and find out, what i can tell is:
1 1/2 inch long
black
6 legs
2 antenna
destinctly has a head and neck and good movement of it
the legs stop halfway down the body the rest is just armor plated abdomen to the tip of the body which has 2 tiny spikes protruding from the tip, it also has rather large mandibles which is the reason why i hesitate to touch this insect it is atm in a glass tumbler which it surprisingly can scale without much problem and apparently can hang upside down from the book i just placed on the top of this glass
so if someone could help me out i would be greatful, while i go put this into a better container
