I agree with you Mark that it is a shame, but if you look through the thread you can find several new members who have posted once/twice and had their posts edited because of adverts.

It's a sad fact that many people, including 'environmentalists', will happily spam a charity's forum just to sell a few beans. We get 2 million unique visitors a year on the website and as the credit crunch takes hold we're seeing an increase in this sort of activity.

As a result, we're OK with new members posting comments about a general product without mentioning suppliers etc, but we'll usually remove links to individual suppliers. Unfortunately, we've had our fingers burnt too many times by people who are essentialy only really interested in making money.
