Re: Satisfaction in Bird Photography!
At long last the light arrived yesterday and coincided with our day off and we took advantage and had an extreme amount of luck - just for a change
After much looking at weather forecasts - which all said wall to wall sunlight by 9am in north Wales off we went..... we were still driving as 9am came and went and no sign of light - another bum day we began to think. Supposedly we were going to Ross first for the purple sandpipers but I got a burst of intuition and headed straight for the Spinnies ......... from the min we got in the hide and sat down it was all action - and it carried on like that all morning! I had such a good time I can hardly believe it! I put my brand new 2 gig card in - and filled it ........
What?!! 583 images to go thro.... oh boy........ I put a second card in and shot a further 173 ........
The light arrived and stayed - and got just too brassy by dinnertime - what a shame! We moved off to Llanberris as two photographers arrived as we were leaving and told us about the goosanders coming for bread with the general mallard mix! Thanks guys - was well worth the 20 drive inland. Unfortunately the sun was only 20 mins off going behind the mountains and the wind was vicious - flat calm for a reflection would be the thing here - and I think we will be back next weekend as I feel some better shots could be extracted from this place!!
Faith restored - equipment not going in the bin ......... as if!
