Yes Squishy I agree but as I said not all members necessarily want to be 'good at photography' to the extent that they have to ''go to tutorials'' or use 'complex/technical software'. Not all members have the aspirations that you appear to have. It is possible for some to accept a lesser standard and be content with the outcome. Some people neither have the aspiration or time to learn new techniques. I know several people who are quite satisfied with the images they obtain straight out of the camera. If this is acceptable to them that is what matters. In fact these people are possibly in the majority of those using digital camera. I have several family members that take digital photos,download to a memory card and go to Jessops or Asda and are delighted with the prints they receive. They basically laugh at the time and trouble I take to process images via software before printing etc.
I am a bit like yourself and do keep trying to get better images and become better at photography but that is my choice as it is obviously yours.
Everyone is different in what they want and what they perceive to be acceptable.
