I have extra light sensitive eyes, so wear sunglasses for most of the year round. And night driving is difficult for me due to being dazzled by oncoming headlights....but those extra bright ones actually hurt the back of my eyes! I'd say it's downright dangerous as I truly cannot see afterwards, due to the glare of them
On the subject of "slow" energy bulbs, I was chuckling to myself the other day when the split second delay annoyed me, the landing light always catches me out, I've already dashed halfway up the stairs before it comes on and for a millisecond there it makes me think I'm going to be upstairs in the dark!

We are talking split seconds here, so it's no big deal....how spoilt we are! A visitor to our bathroom is not so keen on them though, he needs to go little and often and he complains that the light only comes on brightly enough by the time he's due to leave the room!
