| Re: Sun dog? I once had the good fortune to see a 'moonbow' some years ago. It was Late autumn and dark at about 7.30pm. near Barnard Castle. With a bit of overcast, a light rain and a bright moon I suppose conditions were ideal. No camera unfortunately but once seen never forgotten. The bow was quite pronounced and, of course, a pale silver against the black sky. In an urban environment with much random light at night the chances of a viewing are remote.
