Lovely: a good find. I think graphids are pretty neat, but I'm hopeless at IDing them. Hazel is an excellent substrate: whole woods of the stuff on the west coast of Scotland with BAP fungi as well.

All my section cutting was on a course, but I didn't use stains in general, although tried an iodine solution on an
Aipolia species (Melzers is no good for lichens - too strong - use Lugols). Certainly the big issue is getting a thin enough section, but I was surprised at how quickly I achieved this.
